Shawn McCarty
Founder and Instructor

Chef Shawn McCarty has been cooking and working in restaurants and hotels since the age of 12. He has worked his way through a variety of 4 and 5 star rated establishments, receiving his license as a Canadian Red Seal Chef, followed by the completion of a pastry apprenticeship at the prestigious Prince of Wales Hotel in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Chef Shawn has maintained a very intent focus on all things food for over twenty years, from production in gardens and on farms and processing in homes, restaurants and factories, to consumption and its personal and social ramifications. Chef Shawn truly loves food, and believes that learning is a life long journey without a destination, with everyone you encounter along the way having something valuable to teach.
